The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) is a 'not for profit' organization dedicated to furthering all arts and sciences as applied in research, development, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and logistics support of ships, aircraft, shore facilities, space, and related weapons systems which are used by the naval and other military forces and civilian maritime organizations for the defense and well being of the Nation.

Puget Sound Section

ASNE Puget Sound Section encompasses the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska, with membership concentration in Bremerton, Seattle, and Tacoma, Washington. Section meetings typically alternate between restaurants in Seattle and Bremerton to meet the needs of the active membership. Scheduled meetings are the third Thursday of evey odd numbered month, except July. Speakers address a wide range of subjects of interest to the membership from emergent engineering issues to purely entertaining presentations. Annual joint meetings are held with the Society of Naval Architects and Engineers (SNAME) in June. ASNE Executive Board Meetings are normally scheduled on the third Thursday of each even numbered month to alternate with the general meetings. Visitors are welcome at the general meetings.
